  • Attendance: Holly Steinke - WCSC, Allyson Pardee, Kay McIver, James Simmons, Nicole Brotherton, Ross Brigger, Ray Penton, L. E. Bernard, Ellen Reagan, Marly Roberts, Ann Schultz, Ron Schultz, John Irby, Jonathan Anderson, Elizabeth Scott, John Smith, Michelle & David Marsden
     Meeting called to order at 7:34 p.m. by Ray Penton A Motion to approve Minutes from October 21, 2002 meeting was made, seconded and voted unanimously. Village Liasion's Report given by Holly Steinke (see attached agenda dated 11/18/02). Chuck DuCharme Executive Director for Interfaith made a presentation outlining the functions of the program and some historical facts. Interfaith was formed in 1973 by George Mitchell. It was Mr. Mitchell's desire to attract worship centers to the new area known as The Woodlands. There are now 37 member congregations involved with Interfaith and they cover the 77380 - 77386 zip codes. In 2002 the program contributed $160,000 in assistance to the needy. The types of assistance range from gasoline vo., telephone assist, pmt of utilities such as water, and even mortgage payments. The Senior Services div. of Interfaith helps provide transportation to the malls, doctor appointments, etc. The Child Development Center is in its 25th year of service and has a capacity facilities for 550 children with 500 currently in attendance. Other services include Employee Assistance, The Hand Me Up Shop on Sawdust, Senior Gift Program (adopt a senior), Toys for Tots, and many others. Interfaith works very closely with the local member congregations and other charitable organizations to effect broader and more efficient assistance to those in need. Holly encouraged residents to check The Woodlands Community Magazine each month for importants community information and the new web-site at www.thewoodlandsassociations.org. The new web-site can be reached from the old one. Staff e-mail addresses now end in catw-tx.org. For example, Holly's new e-mail address is hesteinke@catw-tx.org. The Woodlands 2002 Holiday Lighting and Decoration Contest Flyer and Detail Sheet is available. The First Night admission badges are available at the Community Associations office for $10 each. Check the magazine for more info on First Night. There was 1 Customer Request to the Parks & Recreation Department in October. TWA Damage Report for October shows $0.00 in estimated repair costs. RDRC Manager, Martha Soundy-Pinton will try to come to the December meeting to introduce herself. Ray spoke on the upcoming elections in February. Since we now qualify for a Class A Director as part of The TWA board, Willie Johnson has agreed to run for that position. Kay McIver will run for President of The Village Association and Allyson Pardee will run for Secretary. Since the elections for 2003 only include: 1 Class A Director for TWA, President, Secretary and 5 Area Reps the positions of Vice President and Treasurer will continue to serve out their two-year terms. Resident Concerns- One resident was written up for child's playset that is in the easement. 8:48 - Meeting adjourned
