Garbage Pickup Information
Trash pickup for the Village of College Park is provided by Waste Management of Houston.
Pickup for Grogan's Forest is once per week on Tuesdays, and Harper's Landing is serviced on Wednesday mornings. WM provides a 96-gallon wheeled garbage bin for refuse and a small recycling bin for recyclable glass, plastic and metal.
Service requests can be emailed to houstonservice@wm.com. WM promises a response to emails within 48 hours. Customer service can also be reached by telephone at (713) 686-6666.
All items must be placed at the curb by 7 a.m. on your service day to ensure service.
Curbside Collection
Place recycling bin, yard waste or other items at least four feet from the 96-gallon cart to allow room for the garbage truck's automated arm.
Bulky Items
For pickup of items too large to fit in the 96-gallon cart, call (800) 553-1902 or (713) 686-6666 at least two working days prior to your regular service days. If usable, call (281) 210-3900 for a list of organizations that provide pickup.
Holiday Schedule
The following holidays are observed only when they occur on a weekday:
New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. When these holidays occur on a weekday there will be no service that day. Service will resume on the next day, including the Saturday following the holiday. Any holiday that falls on a Monday through Friday will cause all subsequent service days for the week to be pushed back by one day. Regular service will resume the following week.Trash Collection
- Must use wheeled cart provided by Waste Management
- Place 96-gallon cart at curb with opening side toward the street and container at least 4 feet from recycling bin and yard waste.
- Container lid must close tightly
- Excess trash bags must be bagged and tagged with tags available from our offices and local groceries for $1.50.
- Excess trash must not exceed 40 pounds.
- NO gasoline, motor oil or used filters, paint or other household chemicals, vehicle tires & batteries, large pieces of metal (i.e. car fenders & engines), medical waste, animal or human waste, construction debris, carpet, rocks, bricks, concrete, dirt, sand, gravel, roofing, lumber or large pieces of glass.
Bulky or Oversized Trash
- Call 800.553.1902 or 713.686.6666 at least two working days prior to your regular service day. Or e-mail Waste Management Customer Service at houstonservice@wm.com *Include in your e-mail your name, address, phone number, village, service day and items to be collected.
- Furniture, appliances, moving boxes and other non-putrescible items too large for 96-gallon container will be collected separately
- Refrigerators and freezers must be certified freon free
Yard Waste Collection
- Grass clippings and leaves must be bagged or containerized, and less than 40 pounds. Place at least 4 feet from 96-gallon cart. NO EXTRA SERVICE TAGS REQUIRED.
- Branches, tree limbs and trimmings
- No larger than 4" diameter
- No longer than 4' length
- Tied in bundles no higher than 4' in height
- Under 40 pounds
- Christmas trees
- Free of all decorations
Recycling - It's Easy!
Only these items will be collected curbside. Place bin at least 4 feet from 96-gallon cart. Additional containers available for purchase. Glass and *oversized boxes can be recycled at Woodlands Recycling Center.- Paper

- NO larger than 24"x24"x24"* - limit of 3
- Please crush or flatten
- NO wax coated or plastic coated materials
- Remove liners
- Must be free of food waste
- Aluminum & Tin Food/Beverage Containers
- Please rinse
- Crushing cans encouraged
- NO foil pie pans, aerosol cans or scrap metal
- Plastic - #1 PETE & #2 HDPE
- Check bottom for recycling triangle for #1 or #2 ONLY
- Rinse and crush
(Failure to follow these guidelines will result in items being landfilled due to contamination)
