November 8, 2014 Harper's Landing Traffic Update

Well, as is the case many times within the scope of a city's move towards progress, the City of Conroe has delayed the construction on the water line project along the edge of Harper's Landing neighborhood. What this means to Harper's Landing residents is that the main entrance of Harper's Landing Blvd will not be disrupted for a couple of more weeks. The city has delayed for approximately two weeks the start of the project. Therefore, the main entrance will remain open as usual and the gate at Ginger Springs will remain closed. Safety issues and concerns continue to be monitored by fire and safety officials.
The most up to date info we have at this point is that the city and the contractor are working on a new schedule and we are supposed to be notified once the plan has been determined and the new start date has been set. Proper signage will be installed prior to the construction. In the meantime they have shifted the construction to the route along Trade Center to the feeder road of Hwy 242. According to the contractor this will not disrupt the traffic flow, but may slow traffic a bit on Trade Center as construction crews will be along the route. Additionally, please remember that the construction continues on the Hwy 242 flyover projects and may have I-45 lanes and/or feeder road lanes closed or delayed.
I am aware that all of this construction is frustrating to residents and I urge you to have patience with each other and other drivers as well. Unfortunately, we have no control over this projects but we can control had we react to the stress the construction may cause. Be kind.
As always please feel free to contact me or any CPVA board member if you have questions or concerns.
