Road Closures in Harper's Landing
April 18-19

WWe received notice today that the Union Pacific Railroad will be performing routine maintenance on its tracks in Harper's Landing (and Forest Hills on Sherbrooke Circle) which will impact residents of Harper's Landing on April 18 and 19, 2015.

Roads will be closed as follows: April 18 - Sherbrooke Road; and, April 19 - Trade Center Blvd. They would need full closures on each road, for approximately 6 to 10 hours depending on the type of maintenance being performed. All work will begin at 9 am. Traffic on these roads will be impacted at the stated times - PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY.

The gate at Gingers Spring will be open to allow better flow of traffic on these two days while this work is being done and will be re-closed once complete. Be patient with fellow residents and other drivers.

Join the Water Wise Village Challenge
ends April 15

We have an opportunity to earn money for our village scholarship program and at the same time be responsible water conservation residents.
Please consider taking the Water Wise Village Challenge with us. As a water conservation effort, we are asked to pledge to turn off our automatic watering systems until April 15. If enough of us pledge to shut down our system until then, we have a good chance of earning our share of the prize money. We need a minimum of 50 households to agree to this challenge in order to participate in the challenge. We currently have 21 households committed.
Please consider joining us. These efforts will result not only in water savings for our community, but possibly monetary savings for you as well. Many of us don't realize how much water is actually wasted by our inefficient watering systems and by shutting them down for a few months (mostly winter months anyway) can save you real dollars in your personal budgets. No one is asking you to not water your lawns, only to hold off on using the automatic systems until April 15. Feel free to water as necessary by hose as needed.
In the early spring, while the challenge is still underway, it might be a good time to have your sprinkler system evaluated by our local water department. The Woodlands Joint Powers Agency (our collective water MUDs) offers a free program to have your water system checked and evaluated for efficient use. This is a great service to the residents. Please go to the following web page to pledge your commitment.
